Halloween is a fun time for lots of kids and adults who celebrate it. It's a time to think of the most fun, scary, or silly costume you can think of, as well as dressing up your kids or pets. Other people love to deck their house out with those 12-foot skeletons or put fake spider webs over every bush and tree in their yard. Not to mention the fun of going trick or treating, or staying in and giving out candy to the kids. You'll be sure to see some excellent costumes!
Other people host Halloween parties—this person's husband got invited to a potluck Halloween party at the middle school he taught at. This party wasn't for the students, though, just for the teachers. The idea was that everyone should bring one dish, and this one was supposed to be savory. That way the teachers could have a smorgasbord of food on this special occasion.
If you've ever been the only person dressed for Halloween at your workplace while everyone else dressed in normal clothes, you know it's a little awkward to be over-invested instead of playing it cool.
